Scholooza consists of eight (8) Career Technical (CT) fields within the services industry that allows youth who are enrolled in middle to high school an opportunity to “try a profession” and “do something” thereby enabling career development as well as community service. The underlying goal of this program is to enhance the quality of and provide a supplementary experience to traditional education methods.
Intended for after-school and summer programming each eight-career technical training courses are packaged with these four main elements (the steak);
> Certification Points within Industry
> Career Development
> Standard Test Preparation (OGT/ACT/SAT)
> Outcome i.e. Community Service Project
The Scholooza program provides opportunities for structured internships with mentoring from local businesses and youth organization and is designed to inspire, motivate,and empower youth to take active responsibility for career development and community service.
Enroll students will have opportunity to assist in presenting seminars including Scholastic Achievement Test Strategies, Career Development and Researched Industry Trends, serve on panels, develop community youth-focused forums, promote youth organizations and business, and interact and take leadership roles with the local business community. In addition to their
hands on involvement on organizing these special events, they will also have the opportunity to participate in entertainment activities as trend-setting models,musicians, and entertainers.
Event Coordination and Management
The Event Coordination and Management career technical program provides enrolled students with real word experience by engaging youth as they participate in internships to learn planing, organization, and the implementation of all phase, tasks, and activities of medium to large-scale events. Necessary skills and lessons to thrive in this $500 billion worldwide industry are part of the syllabus to include but not limited to organization skills,practical mathematics and financial literacy enhanced language and communication skills as well as strong leadership abilities.
